From the hotel we drive to the Splügen Pass, which is at an altitude of 2114 m above sea level.
The watershed between the Rhine and the Po runs across the pass, where we take a short photo break.
We continue via Chiavenna to the Maloja Pass
Chiavenna is an Italian commune in the province of Sondrio, belonging to the Lombardy region, well known today for its historic center and its restaurants.

Arriving at the Maloja Pass, there is the best opportunity for good photos at the first parking lot on the left.
The Maloja Pass is a 1812 m above sea level. M. high Swiss Alpine pass,
the special thing about this Alpine pass is that it is very flat on its north side,
but drops steeply and abruptly to the south.
A little further on the right side at the Maloja pass sign there is a toilet at the parking lot.
The journey continues along the Silser/Silvaplanersee to St. Moritz, past the Morteratsch Glacier to the Bernina Pass.
The Bernina Pass is a 2235 m above sea level. high altitude Swiss Alpine pass that connects the Engadine in the north with the Poschiavo and the Italian Veltlin in the south.
After the short photo break, we head over the Forcola di Livigno to Livigno for lunch.
The Forcola di Livigno is a 2315 m above sea level. M. high mountain crossing, between the border point La Motta and Livigno.
Livigno is a municipality in the Italian province of Sondrio, in Lombardy. The place is a customs exempt area of the European Union.
In the municipality of Livigno there are only minor taxes on the otherwise duty-free products, and no VAT is charged.
Stick to your tour guide for lunch there are so many restaurants along the village promenade with plenty of duty free shops.
The best place to park is at Parcheggio Mottolino (free parking).
Refueling at the end of Livigno in the direction of the reservoir is also worthwhile.
After the lunch break we drive towards the dam wall, don't forget to refuel.
on the dam a fee for the tunnel of 13.-CHF is charged.
It continues to Zernez and over the Albula Pass back to Tiefencastel.
